Search for airworthiness directives based on the aircraft registration.
It is also a good idea to search the FAA Airworthiness Directives.
Note that only searching by aircraft may miss directives aimed at equipment. Also search based on the manufacturer of your avionics, carburettor, etc.
Canadian Aviation Daily Occurrence Reporting System - search reports of incidents and accidents. You can also subscribe to regular emails whenever there are CADORs issued per airport.
